Mk1 Golf GTI Cabriolet 1988
104,000 miles
K-Jet injection, DX engine
Runs sweet. A little searching on start up if it’s been stood for a while, but settles quickly and fires every time.



MOT til November ‘21



Oil and filter change plus new HT leads and plugs, and battery since I’ve owned it this year.



Bought it from my local garage who had been storing it in a lock up for several years. MOT history shows a couple of periods of SORN but by the looks of the car they must’ve been inside too.



New mohair roof fitted earlier this year, headliner and padding spruced up, manual mechanism running smooth.



Currently set up for tin top style but soft top fun! With a few 90s nostalgia mods.

Wiring for the headlights is a bit of a hack job but the original loom and fittings are still there so can be restored.



Original Alpine White paint. Been touched up in various places so is far from perfect. No major rust concerns or weak spots, just surface stuff in the usual places. Underside is solid. Front valence had a small roadkill size dent in it so have filled it. Rubbers and seals are all in decent condition, no leaks. Driver side plastic trim between the windows has a small dent.



Upholstery wet vac’d and come up pretty well. Small wear on driver side bolster needs stitching. New mats.

Smashing car, really enjoyed weekend cruising in it but family expansion means its time for something with more space!
