Hey guys, hope everyone is safe and well, After much deliberation I'm going to sell my 1980 Mk1 black series 1 Gti
When I got the car it had not been driven for over twenty years and so needed a few things, I've replaced the tank, fuel pump, injectors, battery, exhaust and manifold.
The car now starts on the button and can be driven on the road as I have been doing to keep things moving, it had the original 1.6 eg engine with a five speed box, very fun to drive and very different to the normal mk1's I've owned.
The car needs a body restoration and respray, rear arches need doing as well as rear valance and inner wings and I'm sure a few other things once you start digging, I have some repair panels which will go with the car, I also have a decent set of original 5 wheels with brand new tyres which will also go with the car, has original keys and one key fits all. As you can see from the photos it is a truly original car with matching engine numbers, yes it needs work as they all do but the right person chucks some time and effort into it then It will become a real gem, don't see many off these series 1's around any more, the interior looks very cool even down to the original Wolfsburg steering wheel.
It has been already been classed as classic car tax so no more road tax to pay 😃 and mot exempt also.
You could drive the car as it is which is what I do but if restored correctly would really do it justice and would be a very good investment.
15k buys the car my number is 07960 665903 I would take a sensible offer on the car. Thanks for looking guys, I'm selling as I'm restoring a Mars red campaign and just do not have the space and although I really love this car, I've also always had a soft spot for the campaigns with the p slots. I know I'll regret this and also know I'll never find another but I've taken this as far as I can go. Andy
