The shell is for sale but only to somebody whos done some research and is willing to give it a good home, id rather cut it up than see it go in a ditch for incompetence.
The shell has had lots of welding already, bay smoothed with raised turrets and chassis notches eiher side, inner wings bare metal'd and treated to epoxy mastic, floor pan bare metal'd to where rear seats go (rest is cut out) welded full passanger front section in, drivers side has 8" all the way down the floor pan welded in. Both inner and outer sill on driver side and a patch on inner pass side aswell as a full sill. Drivers side full arch tub replaced and fuel filler patch. Pass side has had inner lip sorted and outer arch patch. work still needs to be done, rear panel, lower corners and the back half of floor pan being made out of plate.
The back end has had thought and work so it sits like a mk1 would, it can still be low-ish without cutting rear turrets, just requires short shocks.
It can come with all panels bar wings and green glass, but one piece has smashed with all the 4wd stuff, rallye beam setup, 6sp haldex setup and o2m mounts £2000
All work can be seen in my thread, genuine interest only, timewasters will be ignored.

can you give me some info on the shell. I am putting together parts for a 4x4 conversion myself. I have a shell and the 4x4 kit, rallye tunnel etc.
The car i bought for the project needs alot of work and the after market sunroof removed.
What year is the shell, is it a genuine Gti and does it have a factory roof?
I am a serious guy looking to build a standard looking turbo. I have bought a twin turbo engine from Nothing leaves stock in the USA, this should tell you the lengths I am prepared to go to
