Wow - how the Golf has grown over the years!!!

You may have seen my thread regarding my "new" 1983 GTi Campaign Edition, that joins my current daily car - a MK7 GT Tdi DSG.  Today I put them alongside each other and it is really noticeable at how small the MK1 appears, and how much weight/bulk the Golf has put on over the years IMG_4679.JPG IMG_4679.JPG IMG_4679.JPG IMG_4679.JPG .  An interesting comparison I thought.  Talk about going from "digital" to "analogue" driving!!!!!!!

Sat in a VW UP! Recently and that felt the same size in the front as the MK1. You could touch the passenger door from the drivers seat just like you can in the MK1.

I think you'll find this has been happening very slowly for the past 25 years.
At some point they all will start to go back (slowly) the other way.
Then guess what!
