what bugs me (mk1 golf)

Don't know if anything like this has been done before. sometimes when I see a mk1 , here or in the flesh I think why, even though I actually know why.       Now I possibly may get that from some members for modifying my campaign. So I accept that we all like different things and "its my car to do as I like"  So not all specifically only done to mk1s but what bugs me. The scuttle panel being removed, wider wheels on the rear of a front drive car, being lowered so much that it must be horrible to drive, and show cars , cars are for driving. What bugs you?  AND I DONT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE,

Cars that have been badly repaired, body work being re sprayed over the top of badly rusted panels.

I pretty much like anything -it's another MK1 saved from the scrapyard, but if I see a Mk1 that's been restored to original spec then the stripe missing off the tailgate does bug me if I am honest.

Upside down stripes !! Flushed cabby tailgates !! Lol

The swage lines being filled in bugs me especially on a cabby. I think that they break up the side of the car.

Yes taking the rain tray/scuttle out is a massive pet hate of mine too, who needs a chassis number anyhow?  .

Scuttle out and swage lines filled are the only things that would stop me buying a particular mk1.

Filling the gap between the rear lower valence and the rear quarter annoys me too but wouldn't stop me buying the car if the rest was good

Another one I will throw in,  bumpers removed, makes the front look like the end of a brick, just flat.

Painted dashboards and weird coloured leather seats  

What bugs me !!!!! 
People advertising cars for sale saying "ready for mot will fly through " 
 Why the hell not mot it yourself and sell it for more money !!!!

may be if its someone choice to do what they want to their car it has naf all to do with you   so if you don't like don't do it to your car

Oh and a fair bit more besides.

But it's the individuals car at the end of the day, so whatever floats their boat.  

I love all the above mods as it makes my standard car more sought after!

 

I have a love hate relationship when seeing a cracking looking Mk1 as:-

 a) at present I am still dreaming of having the requisite spare cash required to lavish on my car to get her in tip top condition.

 b) struggling to get the spare time to do small jobs to my car so finding the time to allow me to get her in tip top condition would also require less time driving her as much as I do and and I wont give that up that pleasure for a while yet.

So as they say the green eyed monster will be around for a while yet.

The title says "what bugs me" it does not say what you should or should not be allowed to do.

BBS wheels, there boring and a pain to clean. That also happen to be worth more than the shed they are on

black and white checkered paint, like when someone does a bonnet or roof just looks awful, on seats as well

Here's one. 
People like a certain friend of mine paints a met red Cabby white but it's only on the outside. 

He's having it done in Hungary because it's a third of the price. 
He's having an all white interior done from what I understand and a new red roof which was beige. 

But when he gets it back and opens the bonnet, boot you'll see red! 
So will I but somehow I'll have to keep my mouth shut and definitely not burst into laughter! 

I'll post up some pictures when he gets it back at the end of the month. 

what about when people advertise, or say about my or i got a 'Karmann' cabriolet… They were ALL MADE BY KARMANN!!!  

 

I just don't know but my biggest fear is he wants to park his beside mine at a small classic car rally at the end of the month. 

I can just see the people bursting into laughter and that would not be nice!
