If anybody can help
. I'm wanting to check that my vacumn pipes are connected up right.
I'm wanting to check where the pipe from the dizzy connects to . And where the pipe coming from the back of the clocks into the engine bay connects to ..
Hope that makes sense cheers

The one that comes through the bulkhead behind the clocks, is in the photo to the left hand side of the picture just behind the outlet that is sealed off with a green cap.
As for the one from the dizzy, it goes into a plastic T piece after a few centimetres, but not sure after that, if nobody else posts up I will try and have a look tomorrow.

On mine the dissy vac connects to an outlet on the back of the inlet manifold, near the idle adjustment valve.

Yes, as LeeO says just traced it and it does fit just under the idle screw, really difficult to see and take a picture of but here it is curving up with its black outer cover- the clear pipe you can see is the other one heading towards the bulkhead.
And it starts off at distributor into this T Piece.
This one I think feeds the instant MPG meter and gear change light , and the first one mentioned feeds the digital MFA readout I think.

Looks like my vacumn pipes are connected up correctly, so maybe that valve at fault ?
As the mpg needle moves constantly
..which I've always understood that it only moves whilst in 5th gear ?

Yes it only moves in 5th, so I wonder if there is a wire from the gearbox which lets it know it is in 5th? Electrics are all wizardry to me though!

Looks like the connections to the switch on the gearbox have been cut / reconnected.
I know there's a post about using a mk2 switch with a need to change the wires around , so I'm trying to find that post.
Think it's from about 8 years ago !
