Hi, does anybody there have any manual - Haynes/Bentley for diesel to share?
I have managed to get Poor Richards, but it doesnt cover diesel so well.
Of course I´ve searched there,  google,  torrents, but all the links are dead, or untrustworthy paid.

I used the 1977-1980 on my Westy Rabbit for 20 years to keep it running, as the Haynes was all I could afford at the time.

Where did you manage to find a copy of Poor Richards? I have been keeping an eye out for a decent copy on eBay for the past year or so, but the price most people are asking is just ridiculous...

So, actually nobody have scanned version of theae manulas? Or you just wanna support authors of these publications?

Briano - you mean that in Haynes I will find everything I would ever need, so it's worth the money?

I don't provide scanned manuals of things I own, as that is an infringement of the Owners Copyright.  The owners of those manuals make monies off of them digitally or paperback, and well I do too, that is on works that I have written, and I wouldn't want my revenue lost by passing around items for free.

I do have scanned manuals of my purchased manuals as that is for my use only.

I used a 77-80 Haynes book to keep my 81 Rabbit Diesel 4dr LS running for 20 years.  It was all that was available to me at the time and 40 bucks for the Bentley for that car was a bit over my income budget at the time.  I never bothered to upgrade it as my fortunes increased the Haynes served me well in the days before the interweb.

Trolling for Freebies, isn't something that you will get from me.

Similar to folks that join this forum asking for the VWHeritage and other discount codes when they aren't a paying member.  (Notice I am not a paying member, and rarely have to buy from them.).

Not that I wouldn't mind joining as a paying member, it isn't what I require of this site, as I started out as a contributor of FAQ's and How-to's as I was asked to do so.

So I hope you don't mind that I take a few moments of my time to educate you on my view of things.

Ok, uderstood, no problem ;)
I will probably buy a copy of Heynes, printig a scanned book also costs some money and quality of pictures and texts goes down.
But its great to have a preview, to know, what are you going to give your money for, when you can´t go to book store and take a look ;)

I only scanned my manuals because the Bindings Broke on the ones I used the most.  At the time I worked for a company that made fax/scanner/copiers that could send items straight to my Computer.   So they are quality copies of the manuals.  I also used my Adobe Photoshop Pro to index them and to add pointers to my various how-to's to jog my re-memory.

All the ones I have had to scan I cut the pages out, of the Binding and placed them in Plastic page protectors in a 8" binder…So I still flip to them occasionally.  I also broke out the wiring section as I seem to need that more often than not.

If you want a preview of a good scanned document to see the information.

here is a clip.

That is about all the freebies I do.

Here's a "freebie" from the Rabbit Forum. It is not a lot, but there is an aptly-titled chapter ("What's Different About Diesels?"):

Also, have a look on Amazon for used copies of manuals. There are some for as low as $4.11USD

For the £20 or so that you pay for the Haynes manual it's a no brainer for me… I have PDF copies of some of the manuals for other cars (if I'm doing one job on a friend's car I'm not going to bother buying the book) but for my own cars I always find that having a hard copy is nice.

There's even a diesel Haynes manual on eBay at the minute for just over £7, hard back copy too. No point ripping off the author for the sake of a few quid.

Put it this way - if you use it for one job you'll have saved yourself at least £20 by not going to a mechanic so it's worth the money!
