The Myth that is... MK1 TT Seats... !?!?!?!?!

Post

So, having decided to take the plunge and fit MK1 TT seats into my 1988 Cabriolet, want heated seats and my original seats need loads of refurbishment work, I have been trawling the VW forums to find relevant  information.

CrazyQuiffs are on holiday, so wanted to give fitting said TT seats myself.

Yes. MK1 TT seats, heated and not, have been fitted to MK1 Golfs.

Cannot find anywhere decent information to help an idiot fit TT seats into a MK1 Golf.
I've messaged people on forums, sadly no response.

Anyone, anyone able to point me in the right direction, or even someone to speak with to help me please….??

Thank you.

I can't help much, but I know it isn't an easy thing to do unless you're handy with a welder?

If you use Mk1 subframes they sit stupidly high, I got hold of a modified set like that long ago, but moved them on as they sat horribly. I think you need to have some fab work done to make them sit nicely.

Good luck!

Corrado seats sit lower than the Golf ones, would frames from those be any better?
But yep welding and measuring.
Heated seats then would be the electrical gremlins to sort.
