Swallowtail Conversion

My friend has recently purchased his first MK1 GTI. With it came loads of spares, including a swallowtail conversion (rear lamps and rear panel).

Any idea what its worth? He wants to keep his standard. I've tried to research it for him but can;t find any for sale.

Depending on th condition of the panel, where it has been cut, I'd say upto £400-500 for the panel. If the lights are genuine and in good condition £200. Again this is only based on very few sales of Swallowtail rear panels.

is it a swallow tail? or a s1 panel? they both have small lights. s1 panels come up once in a while, last one guy wanted £250, he still has it

Just to confirm, this is a swollowtail (not trying to tell you how to suck eggs)

1986 Cabriolet (long resto!)
1983 Cabriolet (daily pain in the bum)
1983 T25 (weekend pain in the bum)

that's just an S1 panel, and a poor one. makes sense he was given it :)

I would be quite tempted to convert mine to small lights as I do like the look of them, but I want to be able to reverse any mods I do to mine, and this would be a lot of work to convert back if I wanted to return it all to original spec  :lol:
