Radiator Baffle/Card question

Post

I was cleaning my 91' Cabriolet engine yesterday and discovered a piece of broken cardboard loosely hanging on the side of the radiator.  I instinctively pulled it out and threw it away, wondering why there was a piece of broken cardboard there (with a hole in it).

After some research, I realize that is actually the radiator baffle which increases the efficiency of the radiator.

My question is - do all or most of you still have these pieces intact?

I understand they are no longer available new, so i have decided fabricate one using

Do you know if this template is compatible with a 91' cab?  thanks in advance!

not got them on either of my cars and no issues with overheating.

Can't open the linked file. But as long as they are both big blocks (the file and your car) they should be the same.

Yes should work, not sure about the hole in the right hand side card on the drawing but the drawing says it's for the Air Con as it's a USA link but you being in Hong Honk I guess you have AC?

I think I have a genuine vw side card with the air con hole in it.

The smaller card 155121283 goes to the battery side of the radiator. It's obsolete now. They come up for sale now and again eBay etc. I had a few but all gone now. Probably have a few millboard ones knocking about.

The top radiator card is now available again.

I use them on my cars - basically it funnels the air into the radiator to maximize it's efficiency.

Cheers Hugh.
