Apologies for the grainy photo, but does anyone know about these giant plastic handle surrounds? Looking through photos, no-one else seems to have them.
My first mk1 didn't have them either, and these ones are starting to turn green, so I'm thinking of removing them.

These are Armor door plates, a popular aftermarket anti-theft accessory, also I guess sometimes used to cover up damage caused during a previous break-in

If it's your car. Have a peep under the cover. Pound to a penny there's some "intrusion marks" the size of a screwdriver under there.

That is why I don't have a big ticket Radio, or keep anything in the car that they can tempt them and the boot and glove box locked.
I leave the doors unlocked. Better to have a quick open door, then a slashed top or broken window.
