For a restoration project
not got a gti yet but on the lookout.
wondered how easy parts are to get nowadays? Things like seals, glass, trims, bumpers, grills etc please? Things that aren't available so I can check the right car has them.
coming from Corrado ownership where lots of trim parts are obsolete making restoration difficult / impossible.
any help welcome.

Depends what kind of restoration your doing.
If your happy with pattern parts then its not really a problem though some panels are poor.
I'd say a good interior is a big plus, carpets , roof linings are available new but are copies. I guess when it comes to second hand stuff the better it is the more you'll pay in scene tax if its OEM. There's not a lot in the way of OEM big stuff left.
Wiring looms aren't yet being remanufactured as far as I know but a lot of the correct terminals are available to be able to repair one. Fuseboxes and speedo binnacles are also only available second hand and a bit of a lottery.
Hope this helps.

Brilliant thanks, seems like one way or another most parts are available.
What about door seals and scraper seals for the windows?

Try www.werk34.de loads of parts there.
Some of the website is in English and they do post outside Germany!
Good stuff as well from what I've had from them so far.
