Hi all,
1982 tintop GTi completely standard.
After advice on replacing suspension, as current is very tired.
I'm not after full coil-over, just after recommendations of OEM straight replacement kits / suppliers etc
Trying to keep the car as standard looking as possible.
No previous experience of buying suspension kits!
Budget upto £400 (is this realistic?)
All help gratefully received
Cheers

Do you currently have std suspension? Are you looking for factory ride height or a bit lower?
From what I know original spec GTi springs are hard to come by, but unless you want lower or stiffer, the springs you have should be okay - you can always get them powder coated if you want them to look clean and tidy. As for shocks, Bilstein are respectable, B4 for std, or B6 if lowering. For the fronts, these are just inserts.
Probably also worth looking at replacing the top mounts as well.

Here are a couple of kits with pretty decent items, both will give you a decent ride and a very slightly lower look
The Eibach /Bilstein kit is a fairly well chosen & liked set up on here
Have a look on the AUTODOC app, there is a fairly big choice of components to suit different budgets

Hi Paceman & Jakethepeg,
Apologies for the delay in replying!
Thank you for the links, and yes, top mounts will be replaced also.
