How many were made, desirability and values

I’m not sure where to look, but do we know how many tin tops and cabrios were registered in the UK?

There is a big difference in values between the tin top and the cabrio, and I’ve noticed a lot of cabrios being broken up to restore tin tops….

I am saying a good tin top is around £12-15k, cabrios around £5-9k.

We all love a GTi tin top, but I was thinking that a cabrio is the same but with the option of dropping the top in the sunshine….

could there be so many cabrios getting broken that they become rarer and hard to find in good nick, and the values go up?
