How easy are they to fit? Half hour job or something a bit more tricky?

Only thing I did was to use a relay kit for them rather then direct from the bulb socket.

There is a very real danger of producing excessive glare to other users and despite the appearance of being brighter, the light will not be focused in the correct area leading to reduced long distance and/or overall visibility.
Any reputable vendor will always state that such conversions are for show or off road use (meaning not legal on the roads rather than suitable for off-road 4x4 stuff etc).
You will note none of the big names in lighting, Hella, PIAA etc etc sell conversions of any kind as they know that at best they won't work properly, at worst they can be downright dangerous. (Kits may use bulbs from the mainstream manufacturers, but this type of application is not approved)
For an improvement in lighting there are plenty of threads on here dealing with better bulbs, new reflectors and most importantly upgrading your headlamp wiring loom. These will all contribute to a substantially increased, better focused/placed light output.
Please reconsider this mod, you may cause trouble both for yourself and others.

Please don't fit the H4 "conversions", the beam pattern will be all wrong and you'll just be that prat who looks like he has his high beams on all the time, spreading misery and scorched retinas in his wake. Plus they're an MOT failure and strictly speaking you'll be driving without insurance as your car won't legally be roadworthy.
