What's the best one?
Been persuaded to let my garage go as I'm moving house and now have a drive…good times as I'll use the car a lot more I'm sure as the old garage was away from my house, bad times as it now needs to sit outside in all weathers

After a cover that's 1) not seeing my remortgage before I get in 2) does a good job of protecting the car without holding the moisture in like a tarp jobby I've seen advertised on eBay.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Cheers

hope that this is of some help towards you making your decision

Jon- seen that one two but didn't know if it was worth stumping up an extra £13 for the stormforce one…apparently it's waterproof and breathable…not sure if it's any better though…
Any ideas?

I used it whilst replacing the roof on mine then transferred it over to our Mk1 Polo to keep it dry. It has now pretty much disintegrated on the upper panels (roof and bonnet) after continuous use. It still keeps the car dry but it's literally just hanging in there. I think use through winter is fine but the U.V through summer breaks down the layers.
I recently looked at Halfords covers to replace it and they looked good for £50 - triple layered and look identical to Stormforce but don't have a fleecy liner. I wouldn't put blankets under a cover though as they're breathable and blankets could hold moisture against the paintwork.
My plan now is to buy a Halfords cover and I've just bought materials to build a car port so that I can work on it in all weathers. Belt and braces!

Anyone else had to make the comparison? Just want it to fit and importantly look after the car.

It's 5 ply, waterproof and has straps (good ones) that go under the body of the car.
As I live in Austria I need something that can do the job. so if you want I can look back through my posts but I can't do it till the weekend.
But fair warning, one of these will set you back about 150 quid.
You get what you pay for.
Mine sits on my white Cabrio for at least 5 months per year and when I take it off the paintwork and the top look as good as the day I put it on!

I bought one from a member two winters ago, but darn it if I can remember the name right now.

I think a £130 for the stormforce one is the max I'll be 'allowed' but thanks for the offer of searching out the details.

So now don't bother with on on my Rivage.
So long as you maintain the roof with some water proof treatments and use a good size moisture trap like the ones used in caravans you should be ok.
But do basic stuff like cleaning all the drain holes out in the bottom of the doors, checking replacing the Membrane between the door cards and the doors, most importantly the scuttle drain bungs under bonnet.
I haven't had a cover on mine for 2 years now.

Think im gonna go the stormforce option and as im tinkering most weekends will just keep an eye on the rust situation should it occur.
