Thinking of selling
Hi
I'm thinking of selling my mk1 cab I did alot of work 10 years ago but work an family pushed her to the back burner. An I'm not sure what the market is like now days. Shes got Porsche d90 wheels coil overs front an back mk216v front discs an calipers 16v rear disc an calipers new wish bones new anty rollbars new branded hoses an iv put a 16v kr engine in which runs but I never got round to tuning her up. It's got Subaru impreza seats an the roof is electric which works fine. So I would be very grateful if you the experts could tell me how much shes worth thanks phil

Advice please
It’s a how long is a piece and of string type question.
For the purist then they will hate it, others will love it. Me personally I sort of OEM plus so on the fence if you like.
MOT and driving then 5 to 10 k depending on the buyer and and if the sun is out. Cabs always sell better in the sun. Softies are generally lower price than tin tops for some reason, and if you do an eBay search you will see a range of prices. I would ignore the 14k + cars as they have to be special or rare and original to get that sort of money.
My GUESS is no less than £3500 and is all clean, rot free, good roof etc maybe as much as 7k.
HOWEVER some will think I’m crazy and others will think I’m cheap.
Not a lot of help really

If you're selling, then get a clean MoT on it and sort the running/tune of the engine - these will significantly increase the value.
Apart from the engine, I don't think the mods add anything to the value; most cabbies are modified and people are after original, now they're a bit older. But there's a lot to undo if you went that route.
Bodywork, paintwork and hood condition affect the value a lot too, and these can't be judged properly from the few pics.

sold one recently, for 3700, with mot and lots of work done, not a shiney engine like yours though.. so look at min 4.5k with current Mot, people may not want to take on a non road legal project over the summer

It's a nice looking car. Definitely 'of it's time', if you know what I mean.
I think I'd agree with the other, MOT and tune up for top value. Otherwise you'll get people like me that would want to buy it cheap (sub 2k) do the work and then flog it on for 5-6k.
Depends how much it owes you and how quick you want out of it really.
99p start on ebay with no reserve will usually sort out what it#s worth

FYI…
You will need to change those number plates to get an MOT, black plates can only legally be displayed on cars over 40 years old.

Its great if you have a cosy relationship with the MoT tester but if I were buying a car, and noticed it had full MoT and had black plates, I'd be thinking "if he let that go (which is a fairly obvious thing), what else did he miss?"
By all means stick the set of black plates in the boot with the car though.

Thanks everyone as you all say it needs to be on the road for top money but if I finally get it on road after 10 years I'll want to keep her. The problem with the tuning I put the engine in an thought it would all run fine but it's not that simple iv been tinkering today an found theres no feed to the cold start which is way it's hard to start. I need to take it to someone who knows there onions an not going to pull my pants down at the same time.
