Witts end

I have a imported from Belgium 79 cabriolet and it is in fabulous condition problem is I took the battery off while prepping the body for spraying, no rust but I have put the battery back on fully charged and now the bleeding immobiliser won't switch off, anyone know of a mobile electrician that could take it off ? Before I sell the bleeding thing.

just trace all the wiring back and remove the imobiliser unit, I know it is very time consuming to do but if it was fitted it CAN be removed with patience and time. If it's rust free and in good order there would be no sense in selling it for the imobiliser that you can get rid of.
That's just my 2 pennies worth anyway I wish you luck with it =)

I had the same thing.

my thing on the dash had 3 wired coming out the back. I just pulled the 2 blue ones out, pulled all the cables out the metal immobiser box and plugged it all back in and it worked…… probs more luck than anything

where are you, may help with people suggesting auto electricians

where are you? and any makers name on unit?is it a key fob? or electronic key? i can probably help you out if your not too far

Most of them are wired into the ignition feed then into the cranking wire I think that's what it's called big thick red/black wire at fuse box they are easy to remove if you take your Time, cut one wire trace it then Join the wire it's been connected to back together 

Thank u for all ur replies, I am in Wolverhampton west mids, all help is very welcome. Sometimes it's a minor problem that can be major it is the straw that broke the camels back in this case

Haha yeah! I am on the Birmingham new road, on the outskirts now but used to live in the scotlands

My car had a Sigma and it was a pain in the bum to demobilise so I took it out. Found it easy but my interior had been fully stripped which helpdes a lot.

when I took mine out I just followed all of the wires from the engine bay back to the dash/ignition stripping each one carefully as I went…..a bit time consuming but well worth the effort, I can now drive along with out the alarm going off and the immobiliser draining the battery…happy days
