Which wheels and what size?

Post

All opinions welcome

Anyone got any thoughts on wheels that don't look too aftermarket and sizes they think look and work best?

I'm struggling to find something that's not too obviously an add on and as stands the closest I've seen are APS Cups but still not totally sure.

I'm thinking 15" looks best and either 7" front and 8" rear or 7s all round., but I'm more than happy to be convinced to change any or all of that.

.Thanks.

I have similar questions, but can confirm, I have 13's, and they are great looking, but too small to be practical without looking like they are on stilts and still catch on every bump/lump in the road
I'm being careful not catching a cat eye on an A road crossing lanes

Wheel choice is down to the individual as every one will have their own ideas,  as will the size and what looks best..  For me however  7 x 15 or even 16  with close to standard et  looks best, fit some stub axle spacers on the rear to fill out the arch.  (wider rims on the rear of a fwd car are stupid.)   How ever i think the car is nicer to drive on 6 x 14 with standard et ( and allows room for a bigger brake upgrade) with 185/60 tyres,  it just feels more nimble/ nippy.. This is only my opinion…

Abfmk1, when you say the ride is better on the 14s, what sort of differences are there?

And I agree about close to standard looks, don't suppose you've got any particular rims in mind or photos etc? That's where I'm struggling, I've looking at dozens of them but nothing seems quite right. *ideas/suggestions/photos welcome from anyone else too!! (Please).

I kinda like them, certainly period appropriate, they look like the ones on an Audi Quattro back then. Have you got the centre caps on now?

I went for them because they are period-ish. And yes, they were fitted to Audi's. Have done the centre caps, need to update the build thread! Offset is slightly different so I'm running 5mm spacers all round, don't think I had to, but it keeps the geometry as it should be. Managed to pick them up for £100 in very good condition, but then spent about £150 getting them powder coated.

My rebuild thread I will try and keep up to date: here

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
