Well I never expected to find this on a 33yr old car

In the process of removing the door cards and inner boot panels this evening so I can waxoil from the inside out and when I took the doorcards off I found this

33yrs old and all 4 still present, managed to get them all off in one piece so can hopefully put them back in their rightful place afterwards

I have a slight blemish on the drivers door

And this is how a little blemish looks from the inside

Hopefully a good dousing of the black stuff will stop it in its tracks

Actually that's a good example of when cars are "restored" .  If the other side isn't treated, and sometimes the other side cannot be got at, the car is rusting away unseen. That's why in my opinion a restored car is never going to be as good as an un restored one…

Yeah, don't know why but some ones had a go with their mig welder

I did wonder if it was from when a body shop welds a rod to pull the panel back out, cuts it off and grinds it back before smoothing and spraying.

The car hadnt been restored before I got hold of it and I cant find any differences in paint shade in any light

But even so its nice to see the door membranes in place

Yep it is a rare thing,  I have seen them in wrecking yards on Cars that I am salvaging parts from.  Usually the Speaker pods and pockets.

Saw them on a 84 Cabby I was swapping the roof on, needed some window adjustments… Sad thing was it was a Champagne Edition they Painted  (University of Georgia Red) close to Mars red. And it wasn't a total repaint…. Engine/Trunk were still Champagne… Door bottoms as well, but they got the edges and sills.  :)

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
