1989 Clipper Cab - New to the forum.

Hi to everyone.
I'm new to the site but have owned my Black 1989 Clipper Cab. for over 20 years. I only use her during the summer (I know what summer!)
She's very original and well looked after. I was just curious to know roughly how many are left today and also if anyone has an idea of approx. values? (Not that I'm going to sell her - had her longer than my kids!)
Also whilst I'm on - does anyone know where I can get the black side body trims stripped back and re coated? I don't want to buy replica trim and would prefer to get them recoated so they are original? Is this even possible?

Your Clipper looks in very nice condition. I can help with your first question

On 31 Dec 2023, the numbers of Golf Mk1 Cabrio Clipper in UK were:

Manual: Taxed - 465, SORN - 1,554
Auto: Taxed - 137, SORN - 360

I'm guessing yours was one of the many SORN

She comes out in the summer only for 6 months and then goes back into hiding during the winter. Thanks for the howmanyleft link.

She’s beautiful! I recently bought a similar one in red. The best buy I’ve ever made and my 14 year old son loves it. He had no idea what a cassette player was though or manual wind windows lol
