Im currently looking at a mk1 golf gl but not sure how much it's worth
Hello,
Iv'e recently stumbled upon a rather nice 1983 MK1 golf GL. It is the 1.5L version and has 118k miles on the clock. It's being advertised for arround £2200.
There is no signs of rust from the pictures but im sure there might be some lurking somewhere hiden. I've asked to find out how many previous owners it has had.
Whats the sort of price these days for this version? Cheers.
=======EDIT=======
The seller is "nearly sure" that it is 1 previous owner

Morning,
Can you post some pictures? Its really hard to tell without seeing it. (I'm guessing its a 5 door not a cab)
What I do know is £2200 is towards to upper range for a 5 door GL, I sold one for £1400 in average condition 2 years ago.
If it has only had 1 previous owner that will only increase its value.
Looking forward to seeing some pics.
Jim

That looks good, the only none standard items are the wheel arch trims and wheels (they look like S1 GTI rims)
Does it have all the documented history?
At the end of the day something is only worth what you are willing to pay. There are so few of these cars about and finding the right takes time.
Make them an offer, you can always pay the full price if they say no.
Good luck

Ok thanks a lot for your help. The only thing i was not so sure about was the mileage. Ill probably make an offer and see from there.

Don't worry about the mileage, 118k in 34 years isn't a lot.
Let us know how it goes.
