Mk1 Golfs standard wheels was 13" with 175/70/13 tyres.
It was only later Gti which had 14" wheels with 185/60/14 tyres.

My 83 GTi runs on the original 13 inch Turantula wheels, as far as i am concerned it sits and runs fine. Tyres are 175/70/13. I know people run bigger but i am happy with what I have.
