Well my tax, Mot and insurance are all due on the 25th of this month. I have never used my golf so much while I've been off work and enjoyed every minute. What to do…….? Should I get it all done or wait for this Golf Mk2 ( Covid ) to blow over.

Well MOT is extended by 6mths so that's one issue out the way.

Tax it monthly and the insurance is only about £7.51 a year anyway

Current rides:

2003 BMW 330d Manual Saloon Msport
1985 GTI cabriolet black edition (42k miles)
1999 Triumph Daytona 955i Post apocalyptic, rat, brat, scrambler, steam punk, cafe racer

All good. I work for a garage so I can get the MOT done. I do the tax monthly anyway. It's just the weather isn't looking to so really torn. It's weather like this week that's made it an absolute pleasure to drive.

I try to drive a different fleet car per week, this week will be sportline, last week was mk4, week before was mk2,week before that was white cabby.  i doubt very much the insurance would payout on any untested car.. even with govt saying so.

On the drive
T25 Diesel…sameoldblueshi£ (currently under resto)
Rocco gt2….1990 secret 2…(currently under resto)
Mk4 99 1.8t indigo blue Gti with 43k miles
Caster 93 clipper JH Green cabby
Snowy 91 GTi White cabby( sat waiting for inspiration)
Myvalver 89 GTi Grey mk2 16v
Yuppy Flu 91 GTi Flash Red Sportline

I think I have had an email from all the different insurers for my car saying that they will cover still, as long as the car is kept in a roadworthy state which is what the MOT rule says anyway and guess that clause is always there that you shouldn't drive a car that is knowingly dangerous.

Sadly we all know people who have made mods to a car and insurance haven't paid in full.. I just wouldn't want to be the test case in this instance. As I'm sure that they would do anything to not pay full value, and try get assessment done rather than pay out. Then with assessment you run risk of undeclared alloys, brake upgrades, lights and glass without correct uk/ eec / kite Mark's. Stretched rubber, all that stuff can look nice but can lead to paper chase. My tin top is still sat on drive smashed after 13months of arguments,  no assessment done, not a penny my way.
Luckily as long as mot system Is logging on I too  can get mots done. And would not drive a car without annual checks any ways.. even new cars I have dealer serviced every year and 10k oil /filter  miles and once over at my unit
