Single Piece grille red surround

Hi folks,

I have a 89 cabby. It has the single piece grille. I really want to get the red edging but not keen on changing the grill to a 3 piece single light one. Anyone know where I can get one or are people doing something like spraying it?

That is either a mk2 golf grill or someone has painted that red on existing mk1 one piece grill. The chrome or red edging was only on 3 piece mk1 grills.

That’s my car. The grill is the original grill however I used red detailing tape for the effect. I have since upgraded to a 3 piece quad light grill

You can also use a red paint pen, followed by a clear.

wilko13 How thick is the red tape? I see a few options from 1/4 inch to inch? Just want to make sure I am able to wrap the edging of the front grille.

Also, I am planning to replace my headlights - do you know where I can get replacement  screws/clips/adjusters to install the lights and place the grille back in?

First time posting here - sorry for the rookie questions… Just purchased my first restoration project with a 92 Cab and am very excited.
