It's one of the the few times I wished we could have the American Law system.

I'm no expert being English but I'm guessing this would be a 'Federal Offense' state side with a very heavy prison sentence compared with the UK law! 🤔

I had a cousin, the black sheep of the family, that was sentenced to a day and a year in Leavenworth Federal Correctional Facility.  Rolling back Odometers, and selling junkers as a car owned by a little old lady that drove it to church on Sundays.  Got caught in Illinois, then about 5 years later he got caught again in Missouri, and his wife was caught this time.  5 years and a day.

You would of thought that after his father got caught in WW1 of stealing Army Mules, that he would of known better…  The difference is that his father got off as he billed the Army for mules that didn't exist, so it was the Army's fault for not validating the inventory.  As his Lawyer pointed out that they didn't exist, how could they be stolen… Made a mockery out of the Army, they didn't retry him….  Side bar was that his Father was a US Marshal and pulled in a favor or three….

One of the people knew him for six years!  How could he not have realised what he was up to?

Absolute Scumbags, people dont appreciate what some cars mean to some people or the work/money that's goes into then. Thieving b@*%#ds
