The Kamei Golf is what was bad in the late 70s/early 80s, to me it looks terrible, no wander there was only 2 made as I guess no one wanted one!
Saying that I've never been a fan of Kamei kits.

My thoughts….
The only problem with the sport line golf is you will never want to drive it if you paid that much for it.
It will sit in a heated garage under cover all winter and bought to shows on the back of a trailer, so what's the point of owning a car you don't drive and only look at….
ITS A GTi, they are meant to be driven as that's the whole enjoyment of owning a GTi, taking it out for a drive and putting a big smile on your face even when going a little faster than you are meant to. I’m aiming to get as many miles out of my car as possible, as I’m nearly at 290,000 miles. I want to join the 500,000 mile club.

Yes good point mark. I've seen a lovely Rivage online and that same argument holds. You don't pay upwards of 15 grand and then park it to get dings in tescos car park

Well until recently I said that the Sportline was the bees knees of MK1's but over recent years they're prices have taken a big edge off that for me.
Fundamentally it's the very same car that I've got for double the price and more.
Yes it looks a bit more sexy and it has a smarter interior etc but I find the seats are not as comfortable as my standard ones.
Engine, gearbox and all are the very same.
Just can't justify there prices now even if I had money to burn.
Some of best friends have them and I do understand the attraction and if you were fortunate enough to buy one say five years ago you probably did ok but to buy one now!
Just saying. 😉

I just can't believe the prices of golfs tbh.
Mind you it seems to be the same across the board. I've been keeping half an eye on the price of old Volvo's and old Rovers (American V8 + Old euro classic = big fun) and there all going nuts!
A £200 volvo estate is now over 5k!
Old Diamlers? up from £900 to nearly 10K!
I think th bubble is about to burst people, as it has done before…….

The more that rot, get project stripped, stolen and crashed will drive the price of the rest. Over the long term they will only go up. UNTIL - the whole world is electric and it is impossible to buy fuel for them hopefully long after I am dead. I’m all for green from for the majority of cars on the road but not at the expense of good old fashion driving fun.

Fully agree with this I wouldn’t change mine for a sportline I paid 1k for my gti 4-500 to get in road and has full leather heated seats so for 1500 as you say fundamentally the same car apart from the rivarge seats

Not a good advert, wet car photos never a good idea as you can't see the finish and lots of pictures of a magazine? Need more pictures of the car as that's what you are buying not a book the car was in???
It's not going to be a low reserve as someone does not really want to sell the car.
