Two weeks ago today I had an enormous crash on my bike at brands hatch which lead to numerous injuries and smashed bike parts
80mph highsides on clearways corner to unconsciousness are not good for your health.
Anyway my bike was my road bike, still had all the lights and for the sake of having mirrors and plate screwed back on could go back on the road. It hasn't been insured for nearly a year or taxed but is MOT't (I think)
As a result of the accident I've had to make it a full track bike but it has a private plate assigned to it.
Is there anyway I can get the plate off it and back on to retention as it is or do I need to tax it and insure it first?
Because the bike has been on a sorn for so long I cant do this on line and DVLA will want all the paperwork sending to them anyway (or at least did before)
Anyone know the ins and outs of this procedure
and just for your amusement . . .

Hope your a little sore, but walked away with no injuries other than the bike and your leathers.

Hopefully I can get it on retention then. I dont have a use for the number but there is no point in it being on the bike
And yes your right I'm still finding kitty litter hidden in the bike in really weird places. The medical centre would of needed a lot of sweeping after my visit
