A Sportline with I think 17k on clock sold recently at auction and a few months ago there was a red 82/83 GTI cabby with around 16k I think.
Do you own the black one, or is it for sale somewhere?

Mine had 7,136 (7,162 post test drive tuning before title change) in 2010 when I purchased it from the original owner. Currently has 27,998. I've cleaned up the bay quite a bit since purchase but can't find any pics lol,
Now:

This is currently the lowest mileage one I know of, but he won't sell. 8k miles.

Mine has 8,800 genuine miles from new, mileage was 6,900 when i bought it three years ago. Can't decide whether to preserve it in it's almost new condition or use it. Any words of wisdom on that? Opinions welcome.

Gorgeous car, I would just use it in dry days and keep to about 1000 miles a year, will benefit from a bit of use but still preserves the value.

Mine's a Rivage Hairy you silly sausage.. But you are right, 19,600 miles only. I think they need to be driven to a degree, or at least run up to temperature regularly or the car can suffer from being stood for long periods. I think more importantly is how the car is kept than the low mileage. I keep mine in a heated garage under a cover. I have had it for 12 years and it has only been wet once a year in all that time. I do use it now and again from spring to early autumn and run the engine to temperature regularly throughout the winter months. I always put her away for winter filled to the top with fuel and put a few extra psi in the tyres to try to avoid flat spots. It should go on axel stands really but I can only get to one side of the car with a jack. I always have the battery hooked up to a battery conditioner which is more important if you are using a normal lead acid battery. I am using an AGM battery so it doesn't matter so much. If a battery gets low, then sulphate crystals form on the lead plates preventing it from taking a full charge and reducing its performance. Cold also pulls down the battery to the point where the crystals can form. This is why winter always finds a weak battery. When fully charged, your battery should be able to resist the crystals forming and so when in storage, if you keep your battery charged, you should be ok when you come to use the car again. But regular starting and running to temperature should also go a long way to keeping the battery in condition. Car covers prevent accidental scuffs and also degradation by uv. So there is a lot to keeping a low mileage car in the kind of condition that you really would want to find and buy one in.
