Just got my golf out of hibernation while its dry and sunny. Yesterday after 10 mins cut out and started again after about 1 min or so. Same thing happened again today after 10 mins exactly. I was wondering if its the fuel filter got some muck in it.
Hi Folks
Driving season coming so could not wait to get the golf out for a clean and a drive.

I filled up the tank in october when i laid it to rest over winter.

What engine and fuel system do you have?
When did you last change the fuel filter?
Have you looked at the fuel filler neck for holes?

i have done about 300 miles in it since then.

Year would be nice as the 84.5 and up has a in-tank lift pump that can fail and cause the main to over work, which usually whines prior to stopping.
There there is issues with the CIS fuel Pump relay that can be stressed and over heat and cause cold solder joints.
Not all Fuel Pump relay are the same see
cabby-info.com for details on which to buy.

When it cuts out, check for a spark in case you have some part of the electrical system which is failing when hot. If you have a spark, you know for sure it's a fuel problem. If fuel, see if the time to stop is altered if you drive faster, i.e. more fuel is being taken. If that doesn't affect the time to stop it is likely to be a heating effect with one of the fuel pumps or the associated wiring
