Metal bumper for GTi

I need black metal bumpers for my Mk1 GTi and the ones I have seen all have holes for mounting the rubber strip. I don't believe the GTi has a rubber strip so was there a bumper without holes or is there something else like some tape covering the holes. I could get the holes welded up but then I would need to get the thing repainted or coated.

black bumpers have a kinda tape instead of the rubber strip

you can still see the wholes underneath like in this photo, but it doesnt bother me
