LWS Design??????? Done a runner?!?!

Anybody know Lewis Houben of LWS design?! Ordered and paid for a carbon fibre roof on 3rd June, and was supposed to take 2-3 weeks, amd now cant get hold of him?!?!?!

It shows on complaines house that the company status was dissolved in March this year.

Did you pay by card? If it was credit card you'll be eligible for a refund from your card company. Debit card the rules are different but it may be possible

Yes does seem strange, it seems to be the correct company as the director is the person named above.

Just a quick bit of investigation I'm not trying to stir anything up. Perhaps they are trading under another business name now?

Finally got hold of him this morning.....by calling from a different phone number......i still smell a rat, but he promises it will be in post tomorrow.....hmmm

Oh that's great news. Hopefully everything will go smoothly from now on

Fingers crossed they deliver on this for you. I was hoping to order some door cards and trim from them shortly.

 I have read on other forums that they had been slow with getting the products made up and sent out, but unfortunately they have not helped themselves by not responding to customers.

Roof skin finally turned up……damaged and cracked…….😡

Managed to get hold of Lewis again, who said he would look into sorting it through insurance…….. That was the 18th july and havent been able to get hold of him since.

Found a number on clubgti for his mate/ex business partner….he responded but only to say sorry for lack of comms and hes really busy………doesnt really help though ….if he'd just answer the pigging phone to let me know whats going on I'd be happy😡😡😡

Hopefully the insurance will at least mean you can get your money back.

Do you have any alternative number for Lewis Houben? The number on his website goes to voicemail which is full so no message can be left. Also, emails are now being rejected.
I made the mistake of ordering a roof skin from him a month ago. We spoke by phone and he said the online order could not be paid via PayPal any longer, just direct payment to Lewis Houben personally. Foolishly I did this and have heard nothing since and can no longer connect. The company LWS Design was dissolved back in June but I picked this up too late. Clearly smells of fraudulent activity. Their website needs to be taken down. I will be taking legal action.

The only way i could get hold of lewis was to ring using different numbers, borrowing friends phones.  Seems he screens calls! Then once i had him on the phone threaten to come down to portsmouth to either get a roof or money back. Eventually he met me at silverstone with a roof skin. Appears hes partial to a track day or two with our money 😡 He said at the time mine was the last carbon part he was making and was finishing as it was "too much hassle"……clearly not to much hassle to take peoples money, he just is workshy!!!!

there is a lot of information on forums across the vw scene, he takes ages to deliver goods and they normally come up damage.

i was looking to order a carbon roof skin for my mk3 golf project and gave up in the end.

the problem is no one else makes them.

Excuse me for bumping this, but I just wanted to add that I have also not received my goods from Lewis.
So if anyone have any alternative contact info to him, if you could please PM it to me so I could try and resolve this that would be great.

Unfortunately I believe Lewis Houben has done a runner. His website email is blocked, his phone goes to voicemail and
he never returns calls. His company was dissolved in March this year so he should not be trading at all. He duped me out of a payment on 22 September before I discovered his company was no more. He had the cheek to charge me VAT too!
I therefore wrote letters to what I believe to be his home address - his registered address you can find from Companies House - and gave him a deadline to reimburse me. Needles to say no response. I have therefore reported him to Action Fraud who will take it up with the Police. Lewis' bank is Barclays in Portsmouth so I have also advised them of his fraudulent activity.
If you have paid him money and not received the goods then I recommend that you fill out the online form at Action Fraud. The more people who report him the more likely that this will be investigated fully.

I have had confirmation today from Barclays Bank that Lewis Houben has closed the bank account to which I and others have made payment to him for goods not delivered. BE WARNED! THIS GUY IS A FRAUD. He has been reported to the Police and is currently under investigation.

This is a bummer, a couple guys got great parts in the states, I wanted fenders and door panels myself. Seems I have to look elsewhere. I feel bad for all those he's stolen from. It's like OSVW all over again.
