K-jetronic to carb swap?

Post

Has anyone swapped the k-jetronic injection system to a carburetor on a 1.8L?
It should not be more complicated than removing all the k-jetronic stuff and feeding the intake with a carb?
Would the intake manifold from the carb version just bolt on?

Thinking of switching since I'm more comfortable with carbs.

Thanks!

Forgot you need to plug the hole for the injectors…  Perhaps just leave the injectors in?

Hi , I sourced an inlet from a 1.8 & it fitted straight on with just an adaptor plate to suit the 20250720_153213.jpg carb.
I fitted an extra disposable filter after the Kjet original fuel line & I left the injectors unplugged & have had no issues 20250720_153344.jpg

Will definitely look into this, thanks you so much for sharing.
Did you buy or fabricate the adaptor plate? And what carb are you running?

Thanks

No problem , I had an old Weber 32/34 with uprated jets then found on e bay the inlet manifold 027129713 & the carb mounting flange VW 026129761E.
There's loads of help on here & most parts are quite easily sourced , as you know it's a great hobby but grows arms & legs. I'm sure it was advisable to fit an in line fuel pressure reducer when using the K jet supply 20250725_134103.jpg which I did.
Just double check all your dimensions & part numbers when ordering & good luck 👍
