Have I just bought a Mk2 GTI badge ?

Well as it says I have bought myself a nice new shiny GTI badge but it has 4 clips that slip in between the slats on the grill and I was expecting one that had something to attach it to the holes in the grill just inside of the left headlight… or am I wrong?

Hi. I'm sure that's how mine fits on the Mk1. 4 clips and it slides along the Grille Slats.  I'll go and check.

Hi, yes it has 4 clips that push through the Grille Slats.

Brilliant thanks man, so do you know what the holes in the grill on the left hand side are for, just in from the headlight?

Hi. just had another look. My Grille doesn't have any holes ??   But there's a good chance it's an after market Grille or some replacement. I bought the car from my Son and he's an ace at swopping stuff !!

I think more likely vw heritage have just sent me whatever they happened to have to hand lol
