Door mirror ID

Post

Sorry for the weird angle these are in… wanting an ID on these door mirrors. Will be switching to the standard black mirrors but these don't seem to just be the standard mirror painted red, much smoother rounded shape on the back IMG_8725.png

Those are off a Later Cabriolet, and the later cabriolets had painted color matched flag mirrors.  Some folks liked that and had their early mirrors painted to match.

Great thank you!

They are pressed into the windows and makes it really hard to wind them. Have tried spacing them out and swapping the bases over but just doesn't work.

The cable should be routed behind the front window guide.  if it isn't then it can interfere with the Window regulator.  But also a too long of screw in to the arm rest can also may cause the window regulator bind as well.  I had that on a Cabriolet that I was doing 3 layer top replacement.  Took me a while to figure it out.  remove the 2 screws that are holding the arm rest inplace, then roll the window down.  better/worse.

You may have to take the door card off and inspect the way the routed the 3 cables for the mirror.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check the routing. Changing over to standard mirrors anyways

No interior in the car at the moment so it's not the handles!

I think the windows aren't sat on the guides correctly either

Take the windows out, and the regulator, then clean it and grease the main Crank gear, and the slides.

Follow that by using a soft brush and clean out the rubbers on both side of where the window slides up and down, once dry try it out.

I have done that on my cabriolets, (both electric) and the mechanisms worked more better.

The passenger side window came off the guide at the bottom pretty easily and it's super hard to crank with no window on it, so you must be right. Will have a go at it this weekend
