Not the trusty Mk1 pick up but the Mk5 / Touran based modern things
I've got the mountain bike bug in a big way this year and I only tend to drive to carry things, covered less than 800 miles this year in my daily (obviously not very daily)
All I really know is to avoid the SDI models but that's its, anyone got any input?

I've just had a quote from Adrian Flux on a 2013 1.6 diesel caddy as domestic use only for £225 which is £30 less than my current car which is 10yrs older.
I've seen a few Tfsi engine swapped ones which are tempting

They rust badly, nearly as bad as a Mk1 Golf tin top! Even VW would not do anything about when I mentioned it to there customer services 10 years and you should scrap the car and buy a new one is VW thinking…
Most 2nd/3rd hand ones you will find have broken bits of trim, worn rubberised trim around switches, I found ours "ate" front tyres even good quality branded ones did not seem to last long.
I had to replace anti roll bar bushes every couple of years, rear wishbone mounts wear for a past time, bump stops made of cheese.
Driving them is OK but they are slow, blow around on motorways in cross winds and generally I found the build quality poor and anything electrical seems to go wrong on them from door locks to engine sensors…
Can you guess I would not buy another one….
The Mazda 6 family car we have now is so much better built and feels it in everything you touch, the way it drives and use and everything works and still does…
My experience of a Touran with pics…

Guys just to clarify I am enquiring about caddy vans which are Touran based not actual Tourans themselves.
If I get a Touran the wife will have stupid ideas like breeding more
