Im on the lookout for a Golf Mk1 GTI Cab (or potentially a cheap tin top subject to price). Not too fussed on colour (although ideally not white) or model year but must be a clean solid runner with no rust and decent paint. Don't mind a bit of a project subject to the previous caveats.
Cash waiting. Happy to travel ideally within the North East but would depend what you have

Yep, I'll sort out some pictures and get them over to you. It'll probably be tomorrow now if that's ok.
Thanks

Hi
I've attachd an image (hope it works!). I'll sort some more out shortly.
I should add that the car's interior is totally original (inc. original steering wheel, gear knob, etc) apart from a modern stereo. The seats have no rips or fading or any thing. It is a 40 year old interior though so there are things like the seat material is scagging a bit as you would expect. It had a new hood a few years ago and was always garaged by the previous owners who used it as a fun sunday car and put hardly any miles on it from year to year.
Other things to mention are that it has a very comprehensive history file (but only back to 1992 I think). It has 4 nearly new Goodyear tyres. It's Tax and MOT expempt so super cheap to own and run.
All in all, very a nice, fun little car! And a good investment as these rare early cars become more and more of a classic.
I'm looking for 5k ono for it. Is that within your budget?
Let me know what you think
Cheers

P.S - I found this great reference article - an Auto car review from late August 1980 with the same spec car reviewed. Great for reference! My car is as standard as the one in the magazine (right down to little things like the badges). I think it's only really the modern radio that is non original.
Anyway, take a look
