*** Wanted Mk1 Tintop 3 Door***

Hey Everyone…

I've finally decided to purchase the car I've always wanted to own…. So I can stop being jealous of all the people who own them…

I'm looking for mk1 3 door tintop (preferred) but wont rule out one with a sunroof.

Must be drivable as its going to be project I can enjoy using fixing as I go.

Ideally with no rust or very little…. My budget at the moment is £1500 I know that's not a lot considering what I'm asking for but every month my budget will grow.

Distance is no issue for the right car I'm currently in Glasgow.

You after a Gti or small block?

I'll take what ever my budget will allows me to have

what would you suggest as Im new to the scene

I only ask because I have a 1980 W reg 3 door small block (1300cc 4 speed) for sale and I want £1500 for it.
The Engine is totally rebuilt with a weber carb which is still running as a manual choke, gearbox is great, starts and drives superb.
It is Lido Green with leather interior, obviously not the original, maybe Corrado, it has Gti Tarrantula alloy wheels, needs a couple of rear wheel arch repairs, both wings have been replaced at some point so are pattern parts and rusting but the rest of the paint is original 33 years old
The good thing in its favour is that it is uncut, no aftermarket sunroof and a superb solid body shell crying out to be a project.
I bought the car thinking I would do a 2 litre 16 valve conversion but I have 4 other cars in worse need of attention so it just gets left parked up (DVLA lifted it from storage 2 weeks ago for not being sorned, cost me £300 to get it back!)

I could MOT it for you, it has just expired in November and has only done about 80 miles in the past 18 months!
The only problem I know of is the horn has give up.
