Description:
Recently my close friend passed away and I've been asked by his wife to sell this totally ORIGINAL 1982 Mk1 Golf
This car is one of the rare 5 door versions and also has the 1.5 and a manual gearbox, perfect for driving around town and comfortably cruises along A roads and motorways with ease.
Exterior: The cars Black bodywork is totally original and 41 year old, so has some body work scratches and a few small patches of rust on the roof and the wheels. The paint is fading in places but I believe would come up a treat if t-cut and mopped. The underside looks in good shape and rust free.
Interior: The car has the original cloth interior and in pretty good condition for it's age. The dash is in remarkable condition with no cracks. The Stereo is an original Pioneer cassette player with some extra amps etc, the car originally belonged to famous DJ Danny Howell who had it for some time, tape included with the car. Everything works as it should.
Negative: There are some rust spots on the roof, very superficial at the moment. The passenger's door will only open from the inside, the brakes aren't very responsive. Heavy steering but I guess that's just the car with no power steering.
Overall this is a really good unmolested original example with very low mileage (85,000 miles). The Golf is registered as Historic, therefore is MOT and TAX exempt. Also is ULEZ compliant so apart from insurance and petrol you essentially have free motoring in a really cool car.
I would advise you to please come and view the car before you make any offers, and please make realistic bids.
