 For Sale- 1983 Golf 1.8 GTI Tintop in Black. £16500.00

First Registered August 1983. This is Not a Campaign model.
8 Former keepers.
I have owned the car for the past 13 years during which it has always been garaged and only used in the Summer.
The current mileage is 122852 miles but it has only completed 4500 during my ownership.
I have plenty of documentation of its history from its first registration including its service record, MOT’s and receipts. The car is in excellent condition both inside and out and has very sound bodywork-See photographs. (The headliner is very good and the sills are solid but they didn't show very well in the photos).
12 months MOT-No advisories.
Blaupunt radio/cassette from the period fitted.

During my ownership the following work has been completed:

Respray and new decal stripes.
Exterior trim powder coated.
All seats re-trimmed with VW check material and vinyl.
New Carpet and sound deadening.
4 x Refurbished P Slot Alloys.
New Pirelli P6000 tyres.
New badges (I forget which ones but most of them).
Gear linkages replaced.
New Brake pipes, shoes and master cylinder.
Fuel pipe.
Radiator.
Jetex S/S exhaust.
New Bumpers.
New wheel arch trims.
Numerous other minor items.


As with any car that is 40 years old there will be things that can be improved but these will be discussed during inspections. The engine is sound and it drives really well.

The main reason for selling this car is that I am hardly using it and it deserves someone who will regularly give it a blast although I will be sorry to see it go after owning it for so long.
