Here is my 1982 golf project car.
I have done lots of work including new rear arches, some welding on the front panel and on the front inner arches.
I have renewed the front suspension top mounts and its also had a new gear link bush kit.
Although I have done lots of work it is just a hobby so please do not expect brilliant welding work , I will post the link at the end to my thread so you can make up your own mind.
Over the past months I have been getting it ready to paint. I tried painting over the old paint but the paint on the car was no good and the results were not good so I decided to take it back to bare metal. Most of the car has now been stripped apart from one sill and the roof.
The bare steel has had a light coat of etch but there are some areas around filler that have been uncovered for about a month so these will need any small bits of rust removed before painting. The bonnet will also need any rust stripping off because this is also still bare metal.
This is a unfinished project so expect a lot of work, mainly just filler work and sanding. It will need 2 new front brake pipes because these had to be cut when painting the inner arches. I dont think it needs any more welding.Apart from one small patch on the front passenger floor that has now been welded the floor in this golf is in very good condition as can be seen in my project thread . I have never driven it. It did start but it did not run that good. I think its the carb.
The most recent pictures I have are these, although the front and rear windows have now been removed and the front panel and front inner arches have been stone chipped.
