The time has sadly come for me to part with my much-loved Mk1 Golf GTi.
I've owned, loved and cared for it for over 20 years, with regular service, repairs and restorations to use as a daily runner.

After recent work and a full assessment by restoration specialists, (Rust Republic) I have decided to sell as a project. I have a detailed assessment report and action plan/work required on request.

It is currently registered to a private number. This could be included in the sale but otherwise will returned to its original registration to be sold separately.

Recent work:
WUR refurbished with new seals and pressure disc. Max pressures achieved is 3.8 bar which is perfect. Adjusted CO and is down to 2.5% (Full report available on this).
New multi electrode spark plugs. Now runs and idols well.  I have pictures of the work that’s been completed and the work that’s required.

Work still needing attention:
• Holes in metal vehicle structure near to axle mounts require welding (both sides)
• Holes in body on rear chassis legs require welding (both sides)
• Holes in rear wheel tubs require welding (both side)
• OS sill requires a hole repairing (hidden by bodykit)
• Rear axle bushes heavily perished
• Metal high pressure fuel pipes corroded
• Fusebox hanging down and electrics in general needing some attention
• Fuel filler neck previously repaired poorly and had chaffed as a result. Requires new.
• Cam belt ready for replacement but not an interference engine
• Gear lever stiff in operation – recommend new full linkage kit.
• Water pump showing early signs of coolant leak
