Original Black Campaign for sale

After much thought, I've decided to sell my much loved Campaign. I've had this car for six years now, having originally bought it for my wedding in Sept 2002.

I've done next to no work to the car and hardly driven it and with it sitting in my garage for so long, that's what's finally persuaded me to let it go (plus a new baby helping the decision).

I've just had it MOTd (well, 3 weeks ago) and it sailed through other than some work to the exhaust mainfold and a new battery. I then left it in my garage for over 2 weeks while I went on holiday and it started no problem, first time. I was told that it did the same thing when the new battery went in after it had been sitting for several months.

Overall its a bit of a double edged sword. The bodywork isn't the best and could do with a few sratches and dings taken out and probably a couple of new panels. The sunroof in particular needs replacing. The pictures show it all. Mechanically though, I'd rate if VERY highly. Its never broken down or let me down. Any issues, have been spotted in advance by my trusty mechanic at my local garage and sorted, regardless of cost.

There is extensive history with a whole A4 ringbinder of information, documents, receipts etc. The orginal service book and manual is present.

It is a genuine campaign, with the correct wheels, button pulls, steering wheel, tinted glass etc. Its not been modified other than grooved discs and induction kit.

I've not got the faintest clue what its worth but would love to sell it on this site to someone I know will look after it, rather than autotrader, pistonheads, ebay etc. As you can see from my profile, I've not been an overly active member but have certainly been involved for a long time!

Anyway, enough bable, if you want to know more - call me on 07920 040 616.

I'm struggling to upload the images so PM or reply and I can email them to you. I'll look through the FAQs to learn how to do it as well!!!

Gordon.

The price!!!

I really don't know how much to ask. Looking around at some on web sites I reckon that I'd probably stick it on Autotrader for about ?2'000 and I'd say that I'd be trying for ?1'750 as a minimum.

Hope that helps,
Gordon.

Hi,

I'm still planning on selling the Mk1 and have now resigned myself to the fact that I'll probably have to stick it autotrader! I've not done anything else other than the original post here and the car's just sitting in the garage not really doing much!

I'll lower the price to ?1'500 but still have no idea whether that's a bargin or totally unrealistic. We'll soon find out!

If you want to know more details or want some pictures, drop me a reply or PM me.

I'm based in Edinburgh by the way.

Gordon.

Ideally mate yo'd need to stick some pictures to get people interest..
Usually helps

But when i tried selling my black GTI i had little interest on here, non through autotrader, but scored a little more than i wanted for it by sticking it up on ebay….
