To answer a few questions that have been sent through…..

I bought the car of a mate of mine on 20.12.09 as he was going to scrap it as it had no engine or interior and the roof is buggered. He bought it on the 1.6.09 to do what I've done to it but usual story - his other half played hell with him

The engine came out of a Campaign I'd scrapped last year which had been in an accident - I don't know it's milage but the head gasket has been done as there was oil in the water which then turned out to be the oil cooler  It starts first time and sounds as sweet as a nut and pulls really well……..

The interior fitted is one I picked up off e-bay and is in really good condition with no wear or bolster sag.

It's been painted in the past and has had a really good job done but I would get the sills blown in - I haven't done it as I don't want to seem to be hiding anything. There's been no welding to the chassis. I've brushed a bit of chassis black in about three places where the MOT man got excited with the scrapper and removed the original stuff…..

It's a good little car, I've done all the usual Mk1 checks and all works fine. There's a new petrol filler pipe, new exhaust, a few other odds and sods fitted…..

As stated in the above, the roof is buggered but there's a local trimmer who can supply and fit a Mohair hood for £250 plus a bit extra for cables etc if they're needed.

I bought it so save it from being turned into a fridge or something as there's nothing worse than seeing a scrap Mk1 in my eyes….
