Mk1 golf gti cabriolet easy project £3500

£3500 Up for sale is my mk1 golf GTI cabriolet in white. Really clean condition and solid as a rock with no rust anywhere  at all. Back bumper has some marks as shown in the pics where it's been in the garage. Needs a new roof skin (top skin only) wadding, framework/mech, headliner window frame and glass are all fine and moving freely it's just the top skin it needs. It's running very rich at the moment so is spluttering when cold but is fine when warm. It would be worth doing a service for what it would cost before it goes back on the rd. Couple of other odds and ends to finish it off but it's all there with loads of spare parts too plus another set of wheels. There's so much with it it's probably worth having a chat if your interested. I have everything you see missing (front seats etc) plus loads of spares. Only thing I think I don't have is the waistline trim.

Not had any interest on here at all. Am I off with the price? Iv got some interest on FB but would like it to go to someone on here if possible? Maybe it's just the wrong market/time or year so just wanted to check I wasn't miles away with the price. Any advise would be appreciated 

Price seems great, I paid more than that for mine. Maybe the roof is putting people off? Might be worth getting a new roof fitted then adding that cost onto the asking price. The photos will then look great.

I've just SORNd mine for the winter so definitely not the best time to sell a cabbie, heh

Agree with the above - unless you're desperate for money right now get the roof done this winter and you can pass that cost on when you sell it in the spring. A lot of people won't want to do such 'substantial' work on a car; they want to drive it away and enjoy. 

That's very much for the feedback, that makes sense so I'll probably do that. Iv got a couple of people coming over the weekend so if they don't have it I'll probably do what you've said. Thanks again
