MK1 Diamond Silver Campaign needs a good home
I have just had the rear arches and the inner arches and rear valance properly repaired, in preperation for a full respray.
With the repairs in primer, it sailed through the MOT, in January - the car is currently SORNED.
I have waxoyled inside the rear quarter panels and along the sills.
Folks are welcome to view the car as it stands with the option to buy, or lay down a negotiable deposit and wait for the paint job to be finished (would take about 1 month for a proper job).
As the car stands, I would like ?1,500. With the paintwork completed, it will be worth a lot more.
I have a new green tint windscreen and seal (to be fitted after the respray), and it comes with five MK1 P slots in storage with new Pirelli P6000 tyres and hubcaps.
All the brakes, suspension and gear linkage have been renewed, running ATE 239mm Powerdiscs, Eibach springs and OMP strut braces. The headlights are powered through relays.
The car has covered 162,000 documented miles, and I have serviced it annually. It's had a new cambelt and tensioner, new coolant hoses and radiator, new brake lines in copper and aeroquip brake hoses.
There is also supply of spares that I have collected over the years, which I am now willing to sell off seperately…

I hope the weather this past week hasn't brought anyone too much grief.
As you can see, the rear is still in primer, but the arches have been stonechipped and undersealed, so the gritted roads won't cause too many problems.
As I previously stated, the car is complete, with the proper wheels with caps and the steering wheel in storage.
Please feel free to ask questions…

Green Windscreen and seal
Complete clutch and cable
Gearbox for quick exchange purposes
Supersprint centre section and fittings
Urethane engine mountings
Brake shoe springs and caliper slider kits
All the brakes, suspension and gear linkage, cooling and oil systems on the car have been completely overhauled.
I have a box file of receipts and MOT's, original brochures, handbook, tool kit, etc
The car has been my daily driver, although other commitments mean that I can no longer fund the repaint. The repairs to the wheel arches have been expertly carried out and are in protective primer.
I propose that the car is either sold as seen for offers around ?1,500, or a deposit offered which will fund the repaint, either partial (both rear quarters, wing tops and bonnet which are crazed and faded) for ?700, or full respray (windows out) for ?1,800, which is a good price for a proper job.
The repaint will take up to a month to complete, depending on the extent of the job, but a maximum of ?3,600 will make a MK1 Campaign that is as good as the best, and I know there are alot of cars out there that are not quite what they seem.
That is why I am not bothered that the car can be viewed warts and all, because I know it's a good 'un and I'm proud of it. If it was a rotter I would not have proceeded with the restoration.
PM's are welcome…

Campaign for sale
That is the reason why I am offering the Campaign for sale, I have a growing family, and the GTI is now really an indulgence. My wife has grown to like power steering and air con, (and to be honest, so have I).
So the Golf and the Touran are going, to fund either a V5 Golf or Passat Estate or Seat Toledo - something that ticks all the boxes from the VW camp.
I will consider selling some of the stuff off seperately, because some folks may not want the M3 crystal rear lights, alcantara steering wheel, or the Supersprint centre exhaust, or the stainless back box that makes it sound so crisp…
It is a genuine October 1983 car with the EW chassis number, and I have a box file overflowing with receipts. The car is fully serviced by myself - a qualified VW Technician, and it saled through it's MOT at the end of January only needing a new rear antiroll bar clamp.
