MK1 1981 GLD DIESEL Cabriolet - RARE!!!

Up for VERY reluctant sale is my much loved 1981 cabby (I'm apparently I?m not allowed two Mk1s and made the decision to keep the Gti…)

First off, this car is super-rare! It may be the only one of its kind left on the road. It?s a 1.6 (1598cc) diesel engine, and was part of a special order of 5 or 6 from VW in ?81. The car is totally standard with NO modifications, currently has 106k on the clock and has just had a full service.

Mot January 2009, Tax July 2008. It runs superbly with no issues and very economical, returning 50-60mpg on a run. The only things that aren?t working are the rev counter, and the dash bulb for the glow plugs.

Front end has an original BBS spoiler (not seen one like it before!) and the interior is quite unique too. The body work is excellent for a 27 year old car and there are only a few small rust patches.
