Golf Syncro Turbo Project
The car was destined to run Syncro running gear and as a result, the body shell has had sections removed to mount said Syncro parts
All parts are brand new unless headed as 'used parts'
All parts are genuine VAG unless otherwise stated. Non-VAG parts will either state the manufacturer's name or 'non-genuine'
All new engine parts are PG (G60) parts unless otherwise stated
All trim/electrical parts are for 3 door series 2 (1980-1983) Golfs unless otherwise stated. Some may be universal and fit later model Golfs, Cabriolet models, 5 door models , Scirocco models , Jetta models and Caddy models. Please research before asking questions.
I may have further G60 engine parts and 3 door series 2 Golf parts that I have forgotten I own, these will be included in the price.
If it's not listed here, I don't have it (apart from the aforementioned further items which I have forgotten I own)
I will leave this listing for a few weeks before splitting the lot to sell separately.
If you are interested in single parts, please contact me with an offer which will be considered for after the few weeks are up if the full listing doesn't sell. For single parts, please be clear (i.e. part number or proper description) in PMs
All offers by PM.
Price: £7,000 or best offer. This is a massive saving over buying all parts individually.

1983 (registered 05/01/1984) Golf Driver body shell in Papyrus Green
Covered roughly 110,000 miles before being dismantled. Shell has had the transmission tunnel, steering rack mounts, gearbox mount and spare wheel well removed for Syncro conversion as well as battery tray and washer bottle mounts etc.
The shell has a hole in the windscreen scuttle under where the seal would sit - I have a replacement section from another Golf to cut and weld in place.
Very solid shell, sunroof (glass), comes with both doors.
This photo is how the car looked before it was taken off the road in 2008:

This is how the car looks now:

I haven't got any more up-to-date photos at this point to show sections removed etc.

Replica VW Motorsport shifter for 02A, 02C, 02J and other VAG cable shift applications. Also included is a sheet of thin aluminium cut to the required shape and ready to be folded to suit your application.
VW Motorsport inspired brass shifter bush and needle bearings. Designed to replace the standard plastic bushes for a more positive and direct gear change. Please note that the bush fits all the way in once the housing has been reamed to accept it. The housing is damaged and not for sale, but the 02C Rallye an 02a CTN gearboxes both have the housing attached

Schrick adjustable cam pulley with standard timing marks
Schrick 268/276 G60 camshaft. I was advised by Darren Bennett of G-Werks that this camshaft would work in the solid lifter cylinder head I also have for sale (see below).
Garrett GT2871R .64 AR ball bearing turbocharger. Common aftermarket upgrade for the Nissan S14, also well suited to a high-end 2.0 8v. When choosing the turbo for my project I compared dozens of compressor and turbine maps and the GT2871R appeared best suited for my 350+bhp goal and plenty more on top if needs be.
Custom made Wössner 82.5mm forged pistons. These pistons were designed to be used with a 92.8mm stroke crank (9A, 6A etc. for sale below) and 144mm conrods (9A, 6A, KR etc.) to give 1984cc and have reliefs cut for the PG (G60) oil squirters in order that they can be retained, unlike with off-the-shelf forged pistons out there. 9:1 compression ratio, 20mm wrist pin. Complete with wrist pins and rings
PEC 144mm H-beam conrods with 20mm small ends, ideal for use with the above pistons. Complete with ARP rod bolts
Davies, Craig electric water pump and fan controller. Includes controller, temperature sensor, wiring loom, hose adapters and hose clamps
Custom made engine mount for G60 engines in mk1 Golfs. Used with the correct seal it will seal the opening in the PG or 1H water jackets and also provide a little extra clearance between the supercharger tensioner bracket and chassis leg
Used engine parts:
Knife-edged 92.8mm crank from 9A engine. May benefit from a polish, some light surface rust on journals. Use this with the above pistons and con rods to make a 1984cc 8v!
G60 cam pulley
G60 intermediate shaft pulley
G60 intermediate shaft
G60 intermediate shaft cover/clamp
G60 engine block and mains bearing caps. Bores have a slight lip. Would benefit from a rebore.
G60 oil squirters
G60 crank
G60 vibration dampener
G60 cambelt end crank seal plate
G60 clutch end crank seal plate
G60 cam shaft splash guard
G60 inlet manifold - I started to smooth this to remove all the casting marks - this is port matched to the below cylinder head
DX (mk1 Golf GTI) cylinder head. This has been very heavily ported by HeadFirst cylinder heads. Larger valves have been added and appear to be 43mm inlet/36mm exhaust check the photos - I don't think it's humanly possible to fit larger valves!. The head has been modified to accept G60 injectors, alternator and fuel rail. This is the best 8v cylinder head I've seen in person. Solid lifter too so ideal for a high revving N/A or turbo engine. Solomk1 can vouch for HeadFirst's work and has probably been in a car with this cylinder head on it on in his time! It was rebuilt and skimmed by Headfirst just before I bought it. I have since stripped it and smoothed the casting marks from the front but will happily re-assemble with new oil seals for the buyer. Includes valves, springs, collets, lifters and caps.

02A CTN gearbox - from diesel Golf mk3
02A CBA gearbox - from Corrado G60

Rallye Golf prop shaft with CV joints - I have all three sections including rear donut
Rallye Golf rear subframe - I had begun to grind the welds off the diff mount in order to remove it to narrow the subframe 35-40mm. The diff mount is still on and would just need a line of weld running back along the edge to sort it if you don't wish to narrow it.

Rallye Golf rear subframe to body mounting plates
