Golf GTI Cabriolet - Helios Blue

FOR SALE - VW GOLF MK1 1.8 GTI Cabriolet
Engine Size: 1.8
Year: 1989
Colour: Helios Blue / Navy Hood
Body Type: 2 Door Cabriolet

I brought this car in April 2004 and I'm the 5th Owner.  The previous owners had had the car since June 1992 (when it was under 3 years old).  They are friends of the family and we'd known the car for quite a while - although it wasn't my first choice (wanted a red tintop) the fact that we knew the history of the car helped to clinch the deal.

We've had the car for 4 years and have only done approx 3000 Summer miles in it (Its garaged all the time and doesn't come out in the winter!)

The only reason I'm selling it is to fund the purchase of a red tintop - I know I'm going to regret it but I have to get it out of my system!

(Pictures at the bottom)

The Bad Points (I'll start here because it'll be short) - Only got history since I've owned the car - but I have every bill

?The bodywork is very good for its year (it had a respray in 2004 to tidy it up)

?Interior is in very good condition, drivers seat is worn on the squab bolster (but not worn through).  The interior has also been throughly cleaned but I will do this again before I sell it.

The Good Points

- Approx 100,100 miles showing (condition would suggest this is genuine…but I can't guarantee it)

- Blaupunkt Head Unit (still has plastic protection on it)

- No rust

- All trim in place (plus some spare bits)

- Manual Hood - so no electrics to go wrong (plus its quicker to raise than the electric version).  The hood is also leak free.

- Car passed its MOT on April 15th with no advisory notes!

- 5 months Tax

- Running on OZ Superleggera Alloys with excellent tyres (done about 2000 miles), original scala wheels are available but need restoration.

- List of new parts: Head Gasket, Rocker Cover Gasket, Battery,  Cambelt, Alternator Drive Belt, Plugs,  Brake Discs, Bosch wipers.

This is a great little motor and is in very good condition for a nineteen year old car (this is my opinion before anybody makes any comments). It's ideal for someone who wants an easy way into Golf ownership without any hassles (famous last words)

Any questions PM me.
