Free MK1 golf for project or parts!

For free! (I have to clear my garage out this weekend!)

Here is a MK1 1.5 GL. I got it as a run about between GTI?s, and I kept it as a possible project vehicle (1.9 TDI, 2 tone paint etc). However job/location/money/storage/mrs plus my ?immaculate? campaign dramatically failing its MOT and needing extensive welding means this old girl has got to go!

I cant bear to scrap it as I know all Mk1?s are great cars and easily restorable. Having seen some of the restoration skills here, I know one of you guys (and gals) can give this old motor a new lease of life.

It is garaged in Norwich and has no MOT or tax, so would need towing away. When I was driving it, everything worked very well. I was going to put an MOT on it, but I have run out of time as this has to go by the 12th of August. I have a spare screen as the current one is cracked and it could do with new lower ball joints. I think this is all it needs.

Have a look at the pictures on the link below, I tried to get all the scabby bits. The rear axle mounts are OK, but I couldnt get the camera in there. Even as spares, its got to be worth something. Don?t let another Mk1 get turned into a manhole cover!

If I had a trailer?

If you have a trailer (North Kent is a long tow from Norwich) I would say get yourself up to Norwich this weekend to collect a free golf! I am sure it could be started and driven onto a trailer. If not, I will bring a hand winch.

Hire a lightweight (two wheel) car trailer - mine only cost about thirty quid, and they're big enough for a Mk1
